TV2 KidsFest promises Pioneer Polar Rave…

Pioneer Polar Rave, Saturday July 12, Pioneer Stadium, 7pm to 9pm. $5

Kids from 8 to 12 years have the chance to be part of the dance rave experience this Saturday night at Pioneer Stadium.From 7pm to 9pm the Pioneer Polar Rave will transform the stadium into a snow-themed dance venue - all fully supervised.

A live DJ will be spinning the latest hits, and an impressive lighting display will be accompanied by special effects and music videos.

Nintendo games will be available, and kids are invited to dress up to win prizes.

A sausage sizzle will provide tasty snacks, and the pool and café will be open for parents use while they wait. Normal pool admission prices apply.

The TV2 KidsFest Pioneer Polar Rave will provide a great opportunity for kids to have a night out with their friends in a supervised setting.

…and Fish Stories!

Kultural Kids, Monday July 14 to Saturday July 19, various venues, FREE.

The magical world of Kahu the Kahawai will captivate young and old during the free TV2 KidsFest event Kultural Kids, appearing throughout the community at a variety of venues beginning on Monday July 14th at Pioneer Leisure Centre from 2pm.

Kahu is a giant inflatable fish, and children view his vibrant colour and sheer size while participating in games and activities. Later they can step inside his belly and listen to stories and legends about the moana (ocean).

This TV2 KidsFest event is presented by Kahurangi, a dynamic indigenous company creating employment opportunities for talented young Maori people in traditional performing arts. Now in it’s 20th year the company have performed throughout New Zealand and abroad, with their headquarters based in Hastings.

Kahurangi are completing the final leg of their theatre in education tour for 2003 before travelling to Malaysia, India and Canada.

Kahu the Kahawai appears throughout the second week of TV2 KidsFest at St Teresa’s Church Hall on the 15th of July, Papanui High School on the 16th July, Parklands Community Centre on the 17th of July, Fendalton Community Centre on the 18th, and Nga Hau E Wha National Marae on the 19th.
