New Library Offers Children Creative Environment

4 July 2003

St. Martins Children’s Library is relocating to Christchurch City Libraries ’ newest service, the South Christchurch Library.

St. Martins Children’s Library will close on Saturday 9 August and reopen on Saturday 23 August as part of the South Christchurch Library.

“The new facility in Beckenham will provide fantastic resources and a creative environment for children of all ages and backgrounds to expand their reading abilities and imaginations to greater horizons,” says Hilary Renfree, Area Manager for Christchurch City Libraries.

“As sad as we are to say goodbye to St. Martins Children’s Library, that has served the community so well since 1976, we’re thrilled to progress into the new and exciting things that South Christchurch Library has to offer, ” Hilary Renfree says.

From 9 August until the new library opens on 23 August, reserves placed by St. Martins customers may be picked up from Spreydon Community Library. All books may be returned at any Christchurch City Library.
