Valentine’s Day roses from Christchurch Garden City

31 January 2003

Send your sweetheart, a Christchurch Garden City rose for Valentine’s Day.

Couriers will be delivering this velvet red rose to valentines around the city on 14 February, with personal messages attached.

Being sent one of these exceptionally healthy plants will be just like receiving a bunch of traditional long stemmed roses, with a promise of more to come next year.

Profit from the sale of the $25 plants will go the Mayors Welfare Fund – a charitable trust, which gives relief to Christchurch residents and visitors suffering hardship or distress.

The Christchurch Garden City Rose was bred for the city by internationally renowned rose hybridiser Nola Simpson.

Extra roses have been ordered by the Christchurch City Council this month to cater for increased Valentine’s Day demand.

The $25 cost of the rose includes delivery and gift wrapping.

To order your Christchurch Garden City Rose, telephone 941 6840. Messages with the rose may be up to 20 words long. Payment can be made by credit card.
