After talks between two Christchurch families about the fate of
a dog which bit a Christchurch girl on 20 February, the owner will
have the dog put down by a veterinarian.
The animal, a female bull mastiff, was voluntarily surrendered
to the Christchurch City Council after the incident in North Beach.
The Councils animal control unit held the dog overnight.
The families have agreed that the owner will take the pet
to their vet to have it euthenased, says Mark Vincent, who
heads the Councils animal control team. Well hand
