Planting day at Carisbrook Park
25 August 2003
Grab a spade and head to Aranui’s Carisbrook Park for a community
planting day on Saturday 30 August, starting at 11.30am.
Local people are invited to come along, dig in some plants, eat
some free sausages and talk to Housing NZ and Aranui Community
Renewal staff about improvements they would like to see made to their
area.
Upgrading of the Carisbrook St Park was requested by the community
through Aranui Community Renewal. Work is almost finished aside
from the addition of several hundred new plants. A pathway suitable
for skating and
biking; a basketball hoop and seating are among the Park’s new and
revitalised features.
Organisers will supply the plants and tools for Saturday’s planting
day but bring along a spade if you have one.
Aranui Community Renewal is a partnership between the Aranui
community, Housing NZ Corporation and Christchurch City Council.
