Parenting Week ‘Articipation Xperience’ in Cathedral Square

Friday 13 September, Cathedral Square, 12.15pm to 1.15pm. FREE

Community Spirit was founded in 1996, with the goal to enhance community development and social service through art and performance events with a family focus. They are self confessed ‘Team Music’ enthusiasts, have worked with over 70,000 children over the last 6 years, bringing their message to all ages.

‘Articipation Xperience’ will present a variety of local youth performers, with the emphasis on audience participation and ‘having a go’.

Rowley Avenue Primary School will present a multi cultural item, and a 20 piece classical group from Westburn Full Primary will also perform several musical numbers.

Chisnellwood Intermediate Jazz Group is a 12 piece, and they will present several item, followed by The New Originals band, featuring Mayor Garry Moore’s son Tim Moore, who will be performing several of their own pieces.

The entertainment will be rounded-off with the presentation of several songs of particular significance to Community Spirit: ‘Hey Everybody, You’re a VIP’, ‘Cut the Talk and Do The Dad Walk’, and ‘Light Alloy’ – a number that responds to the popular aspects of Heavy Metal by suggesting that Heavy Metal is right ‘out there’, but light alloy is what gets you past the atmosphere into the real world of parenting.

Join the Articipation Xperience this Friday in Cathedral Square as part of the Free Friday Lunchtime Concert Series, proudly presented by Christchurch City Council Leisure.
