Gainsford Lane and The Bites perform in Cathedral Square
FREE Friday lunchtime concert, Friday September 27th, 12.15pm to 1.15pm
Steve Gainsford and Malcolm Lane are an institution around Christchurch, and have been playing together as Gainsford Lane for about 8 years.
Specialising in a variety of blues based contemporary music, along with original compositions; Steve and Malcolm got together initially to produce music for CRY TV. Since then they have performed regularly at the Arts Centre and throughout the local bar and club scene.
Gainsford Lane are supported this Friday 27th by visiting Australian 4 piece The Bites. Gen Blackmore, Rene Schaefer, Kirsty Stegwazi and Leuan Weinman describe their original music as upbeat, fun and catchy, with melodic riffs and lots of energy.
Made up of three electric guitars, two vocals and drums, all members of the band have played in other groups, and with four different nationalities represented, they have a multi-cultural angle that is apparent in their music.
The Bites join Gainsford Lane this Friday 27th September lunchtime in Cathedral Square.
