Microwave Heats Up Cathedral Square

Free Lunchtime Concert, Friday 21 June, 12.15pm to 1.15pm Cathedral Square

‘Microwave’, who describe their music as original psycho-popabilly, will be performing in Cathedral Square this Friday. Jasmin Lamorie says ‘the band’s music style has been influenced by the likes of Joan Jett, Jonny Cash, Gershwin, and even Cloe of Wainuiomata.’

The eclectic group of individuals (with over 50 years combined performing experience), that make-up the band are: Luke Bolger on drums and vocals, Dr Robert Simonsen (Simi) on guitar and vocals, Cas Nesnomis on vocals, Ray Zordol on vocals, and Jasmin Lamorie on bass guitar.

‘Microwave’ originally set out to play folk music, but the band discovered a new merger of rock, and country, often referred to as Crock. At the Dux de Lux Not So Young Entertainers Competition earlier last year, the audience was treated to the band’s now further defined version of Crock-pop, with a psycho crunch.

Heat up your lunch break in Cathedral Square this Friday with ‘Microwave’.
