Recorder Ensemble to Celebrate NZ Recorder Week 2002

SummerTimes™ FREE Friday Lunchtime Concert in Cathedral Square, January 18, 12.30pm to 2pm.

In celebration of NZ Recorder Week a performance entitled Music In The Air will take place in Cathedral Square this Friday lunchtime between 12.30 and 2pm.

A range of the best performances from Nga Hau Ki Waitaha – The Winds Of Waitaha – that have been presented at St Andrews College will appear in Cathedral Square.

Recorder ensembles, dance, Maori and ethnic wind instruments from around the Pacific will be included, as well as a children’s street samba band.

Friday’s performance will also see the inaugural presentation of a commissioned work entitled ‘Chalice’ that has been written for massed recorder ensemble and other instruments by Helen Bowater.
