More Pandemonium in Cathedral Square

SummerTimes® FREE Friday Lunchtime Concert, February 8, 12.30pm to 2pm, Cathedral Sqaure.

Christchurch’s favourite percussion group Pandemonium return this Friday to perform in Cathedral Square as part of SummerTimes®.

Chris Chirnside, Roanna Cooper, Stephen Fischer, Martin Genet, Craig Given, Brett Painter, Jeremy Thin and Paul Thompson formed the ensemble in 1998, and since then have presented their unique, eclectic style of international music at a huge variety of events and venues ranging from the Netball World Cup to the Christchurch Arts Festival.

Pandemonium perform music from every continent including ancient African music, Steel Drum sounds from the Caribbean, jazz, drum and base, the classics and the theatrical music of Stomp.

They are committed to bringing percussion skills to the community, and undertake interactive performances for school children on a regular basis, often using instruments made from recycled materials.

Pandemonium will perform at this years New Zealand Festival in Wellington, and will be performing at schools, markets, parks and museums as well as developing a new educational production in association with Christchurch music teachers.
