Mayor to launch Christchurch International Trade Alliance (CTANZ)

When: 5.30pm to 7pm, Tuesday 26 February 2002

Where: Cathedral North Room

Millennium Hotel, Cathedral Square, Christchurch

CTANZ is a collaboration of the following founding partners:

CTANZ is a public sector/private sector partnership. The aim is to promote the trade and investment interests of Christchurch and Canterbury in domestic and international markets. The Trade Alliance will promote the identity of Christchurch and greater Canterbury in targeted world markets through publications, trade missions and other activities.

CTANZ will underpin the "Citistate" movement, assisting Christchurch make contacts and alliances with cities throughout the Asia Pacific region and further afield, thereby enhancing understanding of Canterbury’s trade capabilities and unique strengths.

CTANZ will act as a focal point and co-ordinator for businesses to develop relationships throughout New Zealand and internationally, and will direct inbound enquiries to the most appropriate organisations in Christchurch and Canterbury
