Councillors Will Welcome Choir
The Cambrian Youth Choir, with about 65 singers from 12 to 19, will perform in Christchurch on Sunday 23 September.
From Ipswich, Queensland, the choir is touring New Zealand and, at the Christchurch concert at the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church at 2pm, will perform with the Christchurch Youth Choir.
Admission is waged $10 and unwaged $8. The programme will be a mix of inspirational, spiritual and contemporary music. The Cambrian Youth Choir, a branch of the Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir, was formed in 1969 and has performed around Australia. This New Zealand trip is its first overseas tour. Several City Councillors, including Ron Wright and Sally Buck, will host the choir at a reception in the Civic Offices on Saturday 22 September at 3pm.
