Netballers Setting Autograph Time Aside
Canterbury’s champion netballers are setting aside time for children to get their autographs in Cathedral Square tomorrow, 3 October.
The winners of the national netball title will arrive in open-top vintage cars in the Square at noon tomorrow.
Christchurch’s Mayor Garry Moore will lead the public welcome and also present the team with a special plaque.
After Netball Association officials have spoken, the netballers - including several Silver Ferns - will be keen to sign autographs for the children in the Square.
The function will run for about an hour.
Mr. Moore said yesterday that the city and province should be proud of the team. “I am enthusiastic about its achievement and will acknowledge it publicly,” he said.
