Council Gets National Oscar Award
The Christchurch City Council has been awarded a National Oscar Award for its commitment and ongoing support of Out-of-School Programmes for children aged 5 to 14.
The award - a plaque - is also for the support the Council gives to the OSCAR Network (a not-for-profit community support agency) that provides professional support to these programmes on a citywide basis.
The City Council was the only organisation in New Zealand to receive such an award this year.
A presentation to Christchurch’s Mayor Garry Moore to mark the receipt of the award will be made on Wednesday 10 October at 10am in the Mayoral Lounge, Civic Offices, first floor.
