A celebration of New Zealand Music will take place in Cathedral Square this Friday, when a small selection of the cities bands and soloists will perform an exciting mixture of pop, hip-hop, punk, and rock n roll music.
The line-up will include the well known four-piece pop band The Heavy Jones Trio who recently toured nationwide as the supporting act for Zeds Silencer Tour. The Stefan Van Sooest Machine, known for their diverse and eclectic sound, and their performances with New Zealand acts Neil Finn and Garageland, will add an element of hard rock, together with sixties pop, and eighties love songs. Punk rock band Orkid will deliver another of their high energy punk rock performances. 22 year old rapper MC 4Higher, will enlighten everyone with his evocative poetics presented in a popular and yet unique hiphop style.
Lindon Puffin from 98.3 RDU Breakfast, will act as MC for this one and a half hour celebration, and will also entertain on acoustic guitar with a performance of folk-punk songs which have a strong New Zealand identity/imagery.
