Free Trees For Taking Part In Display Day

Free trees, face painting for children and other activities will be seen at a Charleston Neighbourhood Plan Display Day this month.

The Christchurch City Council is to hold a special day as part of public consultations over the redevelopment of the Charleston area.

Residents and stakeholders are being invited to a special display day at the Charleston Reserve at the corner of Grafton and Charles streets on Saturday 12 May from 11am to 3pm.

The first 100 participants to arrive at the event will be given a native tree from Trees for Canterbury to take home.

Children’s face painting, other activities and displays will also be held.

An oral history booth will be available for residents who want to record their historical knowledge of the area.

Anyone who cannot attend the 12 May event will be able to see the displays at the Phillipstown Community Centre, Nursery Road, in the following week.
