Happy Birthday TV2 KidsFest! Over 1,000 events in ten years! This Saturday June 16th Ticketek booking offices will start selling tickets to Christchurch's most anticipated children's July school holiday festival TV2 KidsFest. Hundreds of eager parents and children alike are anticipated outside the Christchurch Town Hall Ticketek office, all keen to get tickets to sell-out events such as the Milk Station Tour - a tour of the Mainland milk station, and Bells to Basement - a close look around the Christchurch Cathedral. " This years line-up of events looks really exciting" says festival coordinator Gillian Galbraith with Christchurch City Council Leisure , " New events include learning circus skills and having a go at trampolining - not to mention loads of great plays, shows and travelling events like Creative Kids. There will even be a collectible beanie-toy of the festival mascot Cool Stuff the Dog!" This is the
tenth year that TV2 Kidsfest has run, and out of the 130 events, 30 are
free, but tickets must still be obtained because numbers are limited. Kicking off this years birthday celebrations will be the TelstraSaturn Fairytale Ball on Saturday June 30th in the Hotel Grand Chancellor. Hundreds of children will enjoy games and music, dancing and storytelling, and even a bite of birthday cake! Bumble and Deep Obsession will perform, and it's all FREE! Over ten years TV2 KidsFest has developed into a hugely successful festival. 1,004 events have made up the festivals, with the number increasing from only 54 events in 1992 to 141 events last year. Check out www.kidsfest.org.nz for full festival details. Brochures are available from Libraries, service centres, cafes and children's shops all over town, or call the City Council on 9416 840. TV2 KidsFest is proudly provided by Christchurch City Council Leisure, and is supported by TV2. For more information: For more
