This year the Tip Top Ice Cream Teddy Bears Picnic will be even bigger and better than ever with many more activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Mainstreet will be alive with shops, vendors and stalls. Mickey’s Happy Train will be located near by for the little-ones to take a ride.

Teddy Harbour on Victoria Lake promises lots of fun with paddleboats and radio controlled boat demonstrations, and Teddy Pavement Art on the tennis courts will be an opportunity for some chalky creative expression. A Teddy Bear Market operates from 1pm to 3pm.

There will be carnival rides to enjoy, and fire engines, tractors and diggers on display. A horse and cart will take families for a Tip Top Ice Cream Teddy Bears Picnic jaunt around the park.

Kids are invited to borrow a book from the Children’s Mobile Library - making a special visit for the day - and there will be a unique opportunity to purchase a souvenir photo of children and their teddies in Goldilocks Cottage.

Budding young-entertainers can sing their favourite tunes on Kids Karaoke, and exciting stage entertainment will occur all throughout the day. Alphabet Soup (New Zealand’s answer to The Wiggles) will appear in the South Island for the very first time. Their performance focuses on important issues such as road safety, good manners and reading.

The Griffins Stage will feature Natural Magic with The Court Jesters as well as Adrian Kirk.

With a wealth of things to see and do, a fun-filled day is guaranteed this year at The Tip Top Ice Cream Teddy Bears Picnic.

Car parking will be available for $3 in Hagley Park (off the Westbound lane of Harper Avenue between 11am and 5pm). Bring a picnic or buy from vendors onsite. Children and their families are encouraged to wear sun protection.
