This Saturday 24th Hagley Park will sparkle as ASB BANK Starry Nights debuts as a premier event for the SummerTimes 2001 Festival.

In a colourful celebration of song and dance, ASB BANK Starry Nights will showcase the latest hits from the international musical theatre scene with specially designed costumes, full choreography, and world class musical production.

Entertainment in this free outdoor showbiz extravaganza will include songs from Beauty and the Beast, Titanic, The Lion King and Les Miserables as well as many other hugely popular shows.

Artistic Director Stephen Roberston has pulled together a talented team of seasoned performers from Showbiz Christchurch, many of whom were seen recently in From West end to Broadway and Little Shop of Horrors. Stephen has a rich career in musical theatre, and never ceases to be amazed by the huge range of talent that Christchurch has to offer.

Musical Director Richard Marrett has been involved with Showbiz Christchurch for many years. An accomplished pianist, he also composes and arranges scores, and his orchestrations have been recorded by the NZSO. " I’m really excited about taking musical theatre outdoors" he says, " It’s great to have ASB BANK supporting free entertainment of this quality".

Along with dynamic choreography, elaborate costumes are being created for ASB BANK Starry Nights, and the show promises a few surprises and special effects.
