Entertainment For Christmas Shoppers
FREE Christmas Lunchtime Concert Series,
Cathedral Square, 12.30 to 2pm, December 17,18,19,20,21.
Last minute Christmas shoppers will be treated to a little lunchtime entertainment next week when some of Christchurchs most popular musicians perform in Cathedral Square.
On Monday 17th Te Huaki Puanakis vocal brilliance will light up the inner city when he shares music that caters to young and old. Hip Hop, funk, 1960s , reggae, Pacific this well rounded entertainer covers all genres, and all ages.
Tuesday 18th sees Pacific Underground performing their blend of reggae and Pacific sounds, mixing originals with covers, this band have won awards, recorded the CD Landmark, and have made multiple television appearances.
Wednesday 19th is the day to experience Sheelaroc and Verse 2, two young bands catering to a younger audience. Sheelarocs international hip-hop style has won them accolades all over New Zealand, and the recent launch of their music video was attended by a huge crowd.
On Thursday 20th Sam Manzanza returns to Cathedral Square, with his African Rhythm Band. A consummate professional and people person Sam promises African music with jazz/blues influence that he calls Hot Dance Music.
The series finishes on Friday 21st with The Canterbury Plainsmen Barbershop Chorus who specialize in harmonised À cappella singing.
With something for everyone, Cathedral Square will come alive next week for the Christmas Season.
