Three-Day Hearing Over Historic Houses
Three days have been set aside to hear an application to demolish Park Terrace buildings that include two historic houses.
The Christchurch City Council hearings panel will hear an application from the Christchurch Central Methodist Mission for the demolition of all buildings at the corner of Park Terrace and Carlton Mill Road from tomorrow. Included among the buildings are two historic ones.
They are listed as group three on the Historic Places Trust list.
The application has attracted more than 30 submissions, all in opposition to the demolition.
Tomorrows hearing (which will start at 9.15am in No. 3 Committee Room at the Civic Offices) will be occupied by evidence from the Methodist Mission.
Submissions will be heard on the two following days.
