SummerTimes lunchtime Concert series rocks on
The popular SummerTimes Lunchtime Concert Series continues in Cathedral Square this Friday with the original sound of The Gryphons.
A local three-piece band, The Gryphons specialise in a variety of rock music. Their music ranges, in their own words "from slow melodic rock to hard thrashy pop-punk." All their music has catchy melodies and energetic dynamics.
Originally formed in 1995, The Gryphons have developed a unique sound based around their respective skills and talents. All their tunes are original and written by the bands singer, Bryan Peters. The other two band members, Brett Painter and Paul Thompson, have strong backgrounds in jazz and have formed a close musical understanding during their years of working together.
Rock on down to Cathedral Square this Friday lunchtime and enjoy some energetic and upbeat original Christchurch music.
The SummerTimes Lunchtime Concert Series continues every Friday until 10 March. Each concert runs from midday to 1.30pm in Cathedral Square.
