Reggae Rhythms with Jahmen

Cathedral Square, Friday September 29th, 12.30-1.30pm, FREE

Five piece band Jahmen will perform their blend of reggae, funk, grunge and rock this Friday in Cathedral Square.

Steve Tafea plays rhythm guitar, Malua Iakopo plays bass, Fuivai Fiso plays keyboards, Mark Molioo plays drums and Allan Asomua joins them on percussion. Jahmen have been together for nearly 7 years, and write much of their repertoire themselves.

Recently the band was selected to be part of ‘Bloke Stars’ on local radio station 92moreFM, and also appeared on the TVNZ show ‘Mai Time’.

All members of the band come from a musical background. Fuivai has played the keyboards from the age of ten, Mark played drums at 12, and after starting off in a band called Brothers in Harmony, Steve went on to be part of Pacific Underground.

Jahmen will perform from 12.30 to 1.30pm in Cathedral Square, courtesy of Christchurch City Council Leisure.
