Minister To Address Local Govt Conference
The Minister of Local Government, the Hon. Sandra Lee, will address the Society of Local Government Managers annual conference in Christchurch tomorrow, 5 September.
Miss Lee will speak at noon towards the end of the two-day conference. The focus of the conference, attended by nearly 375 delegates, is Local Governments involvement in developing dynamic communities and enhancing community wellbeing.
Conference organisers are expecting that Miss Lee will continue with that theme.
A trade exhibition is being held in conjunction with the conference that has attracted two high-profile overseas speakers. They are Dr Barry Quirk, the chief executive of the London borough of Lewisham, who spoke yesterday and Dr Marga Prohl, head of a division in the German Bertelsmann Foundation, who is due to speak at 8.30am tomorrow.
