Deputy PM In Panel Discussion
The Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. Jim Anderton, will take part in a panel discussion at the Society of Local Government Managers annual conference in Christchurch from 3-5 September.
He will discuss "Life Beyond Economics" with the chief executive of the Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce, Peter Townsend, the Christchurch City Councils City Manager, Mike Richardson, and the Chief Executive of Auckland Regional Authority, Jo Brosnahan.
This will be held from 4pm on Monday 4 September at the Hotel Grand Chancellor.
Nearly 375 delegates will arrive on Sunday 3 September and be welcomed at 5pm with a special mihi by Ngai Tahu.
The conference will focus on local governments involvement in developing dynamic communities and enhancing community wellbeing. The focus was consistent with central governments philosophy and will help to encourage governance partnerships.
NB: Photographers and TV cameras will be welcome to attend the mihi at 5pm on the 14th floor at the Hotel Grand Chancellor.
