Pandemonium hits SummerTimes lunchtime concert series
Local group Pandemonium will hit Cathedral Square with their exciting and innovative percussion sound at this Fridays SummerTimes Lunchtime Concert.
Pandemonium was created in 1998 by a young but very accomplished team of musicians. All but two members are still students but their youth belies their wealth of experience and achievement. Four of the eight-member group have already represented New Zealand in orchestral or brass band percussion and three members are past national solo percussion champions.
Pandemonium performs on percussion instruments from all over the world, including an African talking drum, a Japanese taiko drum, bongos, congas, and the only set of West Indian Steel pans in New Zealand.
Fresh from performances at the World Netball Championships, the recent One-Day Cricket International between New Zealand and the West Indies, and a number of community and cultural festivals, Pandemonium are bound to delight the lunchtime audience with their youthful vitality and unique variety of percussion music.
The SummerTimes Lunchtime Concert Series continues every Friday until 10 March. Each concert runs from midday to 1.30pm in Cathedral Square.
