Garden Celebrations To Mark Anniversary

An event for the whole family will be held at the Edmonds Factory Garden on Friday 24 November.

It will be held to mark the 10th anniversary of the decision by the Hagley-Ferrymead Community Board to buy the land, the last remnant of the Edmonds "Sure to Rise" factory, in Ferry Road.

The event will also coincide with the 10th anniversary of the inaugural meeting of the Friends of the Garden.

Children will be catered for at the garden from 4.30pm to 6pm with activities such as top team games, a bouncy castle, mini golf and face painting.

Karaoke will also be staged.

At 6.30pm a garden party will start with people able to wander around the garden to the music from a string quartet.

The official unveiling of a new entranceway on Ferry Road will be held at 7pm.

The event is being organised by the Christchurch City Council Parks and Leisure units, with the support of the community board, the garden friends group, the Woolston Development Project, and the Puhoi Cheese Company.
