Free Shuttle Buses Between The Show and Race Events

Showtime Canterbury, November 4th to 19th 2000, all over Canterbury.

Only days remain before Canterbury celebrates with Showtime Canterbury – the regions largest provincial celebration.

Hundreds of thousands are expected to participate in a huge range of events ranging from garden tours and craft exhibitions, to wine tasting and super saloon racing.

Highly anticipated feature events include the Meridian Energy Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday November 5th at New Brighton Pier; The Canterbury Draught New Zealand Cup Carnival at Riccarton Park from November 11th to 18th; The Canterbury Draught Trotting Cup Day on November 14th, and The Canterbury Agricultural Show from November 15th to 18th.

The Canterbury Show was traditionally placed next door to the Addington races, but with the recent move to the new Agricultural Park on Curletts Road, Christchurch City Council Leisure are providing convenient free shuttle buses between the venues on Friday 17th November – Canterbury Anniversary Day.

These free shuttles are also available between The Show and Riccarton Raceway on Wednesday November 15th and 18th.

Brochures listing details about events that make up the two weeks of Showtime Canterbury are available from all service centres, city pools and recreation centres, Libraries and central city businesses.
