Fendalton Library Gets New Wheels
Fendalton Library is the proud owner of a brand new wheelchair, bought with money donated by the Friends of the Library.
The wheelchair, available for customers, will be formally presented at a function on Tuesday 28th November 5.30-7pm at the library.
Friends of the Library is a group of people dedicated to supporting and promoting the work of Christchurch City Libraries. The group raises funds and organises a monthly speaker series, which is held at the Central City Library.
"The team at Fendalton was thrilled to receive the money, and it will be a great pleasure to host the Friends on a tour of Christchurch's newest library," Marion Ogier, Fendalton Community Librarian, said.
Access by wheelchairs is part of our ongoing commitment to make Fendalton Library as accessible as possible."
Other access facilities at the building include two mobility carparks near the entrance, a special toilet, small supermarket-style trolleys, a computer catalogue with large type, and plenty of comfortable chairs that are easy to get in and out of.
