Eighteen Linwood High School students and three teachers who are off to England had a civic farewell at the Christchurch City Council today.
The group is part of an exchange system under the City Council Sister City relationship with Christchurch, Dorset, England. Two years ago students from Twynham Comprehensive School came to Christchurch to be home-hosted.
The English students attended classes at Linwood High and now Linwood High students, some of whom hosted the English students, are off to Christchurch, England.
When in England they will attend classes at the comprehensive school.
The Deputy Mayor, Lesley Keast, told the students at a reception that they would find England a wonderful experience and they should be ambassadors for the city.
The chairman of the Christchurch Sister City Committee, Ted Clarke, said a meeting had been arranged in England for Twynham students to make another trip to Linwood High School.
