Four Crusaders Walking With Kids
Canterbury Crusaders Afato Sooalo, Dave Hewitt, Aaron Flynn and Caleb Ralph will help launch the Walk a Child to School Day tomorrow 1 March.
This will be the Christchurch City Councils second Walk a Child to School Day and more than 40 schools will be taking part.
Crusaders Sooalo and Hewitt will leave Thorrington Reserve, Thorrington Street, at 8.30am heading for Thorrington School. Flynn and Ralph will leave Church Square at 8am for Addington School.
Canterbury Rams basketballers Tim Edmonds and Luke Ruscoe will leave Waimairi Cemetery at 8.30am to go to Kendall School.
New Zealand woman cricketer Cathy Campbell will lead children from the corner of Rutland Street and Knowles Street at 8.15am heading for Paparoa Street School.
Politician Rod Donald, co-leader of the Greens Party, will leave the corner of Wycola Avenue and Manurere Street at 8.20am with a Walking School Bus. This is a new concept developed after last years walk and allows parents to pick up children from their homes and walk them to and from school each day.
The Mayor, Garry Moore, will leave the corner of Westminster Street and Kensington Avenue at 8.20am with several families and walk to Our Lady Fatima School.
