Fencing Competition to Improve Citys Face
Christchurch could be in danger of losing its garden city identity as the streets are fast becoming boarded up.
Boring corridors of ugly 2-metre-high fences are becoming the norm.
But it doesnt have to be like this.
Some people still put thought into how to enhance the street appeal of their properties.
Some consciously, through innovative design, give something back to the street when they mark their boundaries.
Keep Christchurch Beautiful wishes to acknowledge the "garden city spirit" of these people by inviting participation in the great fencing (or no fence!) exposition.
All that is required is to send in a photograph of the fence or boundary treatment of your choice to: The Think Fencing Competition, Keep Christchurch Beautiful, P O Box 237, Christchurch before Monday 11th September.
Entrants must include:
All entries will be in the draw to win $400 of Jims
Mowing Services.
(Note: it is the fence owner who is eligible for the prize)
Six entries will be chosen to form a pull-out street scene postcard. Fences achieving "honours" will receive the Keep Christchurch Beautiful Fence of Distinction Award.
