Stamps For Passports At Events

Children and others can get their special Canterbury Passports stamped at this weekend’s 150th anniversary events.

More than 30,000 of children have received the Canterbury Passports through their schools. They can have them visa stamped at the Son et Lumiere on Saturday night in Cathedral Square and at the Victorian Garden Party in the Botanic Gardens the next day to record their attendance at these historical events.

The Canterbury Passports have been gifted by Turning Point 2000 to mark the new millennium and the 150th anniversary of Canterbury to Christchurch Year One to Eight school children.

The Passports are an inter-active keepsake that will enable children to record information about themselves, their families and their activities at this significant time in Canterbury history.

Each Canterbury Passport has security features just like a real passport. Each is individually numbered and the public can buy them for $9.95 each. The passports, and other 150th Anniversary commemorative merchandise, such as T-shirts and hats, will be for sale at the Son et Lumiere and Victorian Garden Party events.
