Canterbury Crusaders Victory Tickertape Parade
Tuesday 30 May, 12.30-1.30pm
Moorhouse Ave/Colombo Street to Southern side of Cathedral Square.
Christchurch City is gearing up for another huge celebration, this time in honour of the Crusaders Super 12 win over ACT Brumbies on Saturday night.
The victory parade will begin tomorrow (Tuesday 30th) at 12.30pm, starting at the Moorhouse Ave/Colombo Street intersection, continuing up Colombo Street and finishing on the Southern side of Cathedral Square at around 1.30pm. A map of the route is attached.
Schools attending the parade can take advantage of special bus parking set aside for them on the eastside of Durham Street between St Asaph Street and Moorhouse Venue. Mobility parking for disabled will be available in Cathedral Square near the Southern Encounter Aquarium. Public are encouraged to wear red and black, and tickertape will be distributed along the route by National Bank staff.
The Parade will go ahead in rain or shine. Parking on Colombo Street between 12 and 2pm is not encouraged.
- All media are encouraged to wear identification as media passes will not be issued.
- We request that every attempt be made to observe safety along the parade route, especially around vehicles and animals.
- A special vehicle in front of the parade will be made available to Press for photography purposes on a first come first serve basis. Please respect the needs of other media when using this vehicle.
