Best Book Bargains Of Millennium

Canterbury Public Library will hold its legendary book sale for the 15th year running on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 June at the Christchurch Convention Centre.

Organised by the library as part of the Books & Beyond festival, the sale will offer more than 40,000 books, for both adults and children, at bargain prices.

Books covering popular topics such as cookery, gardening, sport and travel will be up for grabs, as well as a wide range of novels including romance, mysteries and westerns. And for children there will be plenty of choice including picture books, stories and information books.

"The book sale is a great opportunity to stock up on reading material," said Sasha Bowers, the library's Promotions & Publications Co-ordinator. "It's also a rare chance to pick up those out-of-print titles which you won't find elsewhere."

The sale will open on Wednesday 7 June from 9.00am - 9.00pm and Thursday 8 June from 9.00am - 3.00pm.

See mountains of books being prepared for the book sale at the Canterbury Public Library store, 180 Smith Street, on Monday 29 or Tuesday 30 May at 3.45pm.
