Bardot to play New Zealand’s only free outdoor concert in Cathedral Square

Christchurch Cathedral Square, Friday 12^th May 2000, 4pm

Australian pop sensation Bardot - stars of TV’s ‘Popstars’ – will perform a half hour show in New Zealand’s only free outdoor concert this Friday 12^th May in Christchurch Cathedral Square.

The five young Aussie women will be onstage in the South/West Corner of Cathedral Square at 4pm, and after about 45 minutes, will be available to autograph copies of their latest CD ‘Bardot’ until approximately 6.45pm. Copies of the CD will be available to purchase on site from a Sounds booth.

Thousands of young women auditioned to be part of the Australian supergroup, with the final five, Tiffany Wood, Sally Polihronas, Belinda Chapple, Sophie Mark, and Katie Underwood forming a combination of both talent and beauty as they took their single ‘Poison’ to number one in the Australian and more recently the New Zealand music charts

‘Thanks to Garden City Bowl, Christchurch City Council Leisure, and MoreFM we are very fortunate to have this hugely popular international band in Christchurch performing free of charge.’ says City Council Events PR and Promotions Coordinator Beatrice Cheer ‘ It’s a one-off opportunity for fans to meet Bardot in person and it’ll be a great show!’

• Bardot will be on stage around 4pm to perform for 30 minutes.
• Audience members will have the opportunity to queue for a signing of the CD ‘Bardot’ after 4.45pm until around 6.30pm
• Traffic congestion can be expected so it is recommended that all drop-off and pick-ups be made OUTSIDE the Cathedral Square area.
