Press Lunchtime Concert

featuring Pandemonium

12pm to 1.30pm, Friday 19 February 1999, Cathedral Square

The SummerTimes festival's Press Lunchtime Concert Series features a performance by Pandemonium on Friday 19 February from 12pm to 1.30pm.

The nine-piece steel drum and percussion group play a variety of jazz, reggae and traditional calypso music. Their steel drum set is one of only a few in Australasia, so the concert is a rare opportunity to experience the unique sound they produce. Pandemonium has its roots with the Canterbury Percussion Ensemble. They recently recorded a CD and featured in the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra’s Classic Proms concert.

The members of Pandemonium are: Roanna Cooper, Stephen Fischer, Martin Genet, Craig Given, Brett Painter, Daniel Spragg, Jeremy Thin and Paul Thompson.
