Mayor Garry Moore is to urge Christchurch to try fostering, in a speech to the Fostering Forum representing a wide range of groups involved in fostering. The forum is Christchurchs contribution to Foster Awareness week.
Garry Moore is to say "my challenge to Christchurch families is simple take the plunge, open your hearts and try fostering. Pick up the phone today and ring 3665977 to find out more about how you can foster."
Garry Moore will talk about Christchurch as a City that cares, and says we need to take action without waiting for Wellington.
Christchurch City Council staff understand there is a backlog of at least 28 families needed to foster the children who need fostering today in our City.
