SummerTimes A festival of free entertainment.

Monday 18 January 1999

Brass and pipe bands converge on the Botanic Gardens.

Many of Christchurch’s municipal brass and pipe bands will entertain audiences in the Botanic Gardens during the SummerTimes festival.

Performances by Christchurch’s municipal bands have been a popular feature of the festival for a number of years. The repertoire of each band ranges from traditional to contemporary pieces. The series offers an ideal opportunity to enjoy a picnic in the picturesque surroundings of the Archery Lawn, the children’s playground and the Daffodil Lawns while enjoying the performances.

The series begins on Sunday 31 January and runs through until Sunday 28 February. The schedule for Botanic Bands is listed below.
