The new Mayor, Garry Moore’s, has released his recommendations to the new Council as to who the new Deputy Mayor should be and who should chair the Council committees. The full list will be available at the Council meeting on 4 November.
The recommendation is :

The role of the Canterbury Development Corporation will be enhanced and the CDC will be given the status of a Standing Committee, and will be central to the City Council’s economic development strategy. The Council is expected to recommend high profile Councillors for appointment to the CDC Board.
Garry Moore interviewed all councillors and is confident that the list was the recommendation of the majority of the new Council. He also says that Councillors have been allocated to the Committee of their choice
