100 dancers go full circle
Full Circle, 7.30pm, Sunday 4 October 1998, James Hay Theatre
More than 100 dancers plan to go full circle when they step out in a spectacular finale to the second Christchurch Festival of Dance on Sunday 4 October.
Full Circle at the James Hay Theatre is a two hour showcase of top dancers from the festival, including Aucklands Unitec Contemporary Dance Company and the East Auckland Performing Arts School. A strong Polynesian element also features in the show with performances from Nga Tai E Rua Culture Group and Christchurchs own Pacific Underground.
Narrated by well known television presenter Steve Joll, Full Circle takes the audience on a journey of dance, covering distance and time, from tribal and ethnic roots through to the modern day. The show journeys from a cyber-tribal performance from New Age company Suntoi through to dances from Europe, Asia, the Middle-East, the Americas and the finest young dancers from New Zealands National Ballet School.
Full Circle is on stage at the James Hay Theatre from 7.30pm on Sunday 4 October. There is one performance only.
Tickets to Full Circle are $12 for adults and $6 for children and are
available through Ticketek, phone 377 8899.
