The first of the SummerTimes festival’s Press Lunchtime Concerts will feature some special guests from Australia.

The Western Australian Combined Districts Concert Band has been the A Grade champion concert band in Western Australia for the past four years. The group touring New Zealand in early 1999 consists of 36 musicians ranging in age from 12 to 24.

The band has three performance styles: a concert performance, a standing static performance and a marching band for street parades. Their extensive repertoire includes show tunes, marches, classical pieces and some original compositions.

Major Ian Milne is the band’s Musical Director. A former Australian Army Band Corps Officer, he has over 35 years extensive musical experience, having performed and conducted all over Australia and overseas as a professional musician.
