Millennium Games Torch Display
The torch was created by Christchurch Polytechnic students for children involved in the City’s Millennium Games.

An exhibition celebrating Canterbury’s rich cultural diversity. It reflects the energy, colours, diversity and influences that different cultures bring to our region.

Studdingsail Hall Display
Re-creation of the tent made of a Studdingsail from the ship Charlotte Jane and where Dr Alfred Barker and his family lived until their Worcester Street house was built.

New Boutique Museum, Nurses’ Memorial Chapel
Mon 16 Oct to Fri 20 October

Opening of the new display area in this beautiful and tranquil chapel, built as a memorial to nurses killed in WWI and the 1918 Influenza Epidemic. Also an opportunity to see the new floral stained glass window dedicated earlier this year.

Old Syd'nham TownTraditional Crafts Show

Representatives from traditional crafts demonstrate and exhibit examples of their work in Old Syd’nham Town arcade. They include The Christchurch Lacemakers, The Christchurch Guild of Weavers and Spinners, clockmaker Graeme Absalom, wood carver Pat Row and cooper David Bain.

Recollections at Riccarton House

Riccarton HouseThe Canterbury Antique Collectors Club stages period displays from private collections, depicting life since the days of the Deans family. Also an opportunity to buy antiques and Deans family art work. There will be demonstrations of furniture restoration and French polishing plus grain and marble paint finishes, and a roadshow for identification and appraisal of items for a small extra charge.
