NOTICES OF MOTION

1. CONFIRMATION OF PROCEEDINGS TO DECLARE HUMPHREYS DRIVE AS A LIMITED ACCESS ROAD BETWEEN LINWOOD AVENUE AND FERRY ROAD

The following resolution should be adopted:

"The public notice required by the Local Government Act 1974 having been given in the Christchurch Press newspaper on Monday 26 January and Thursday 12 February 1998, the following resolution passed by way of Special Order at a meeting of the Council held on Wednesday 17 December 1997 is hereby confirmed:

`That the Christchurch City Council, being the local authority having control of the roads in the City of Christchurch, hereby resolves by way of Special Order and pursuant to the provisions of Section 346 of the Local Government Act 1974 to declare all of Humphreys Drive between Linwood Avenue and Ferry Road to be a limited access road, as more particularly shown on Plan D7152 and the accompanying schedule setting out the existing crossing places and the position of the crossing places to be authorised (attached).'"

 

2. CONFIRMATION OF PROCEEDINGS TO MAKE THE CHRISTCHURCH CITY TRAFFIC AND PARKING ALTERATION BYLAW 1998

The following resolution should be adopted:

"The public notice required by the Local Government Act 1974 having been given in the Christchurch Press newspaper on Thursday 29 January and Thursday 12 February 1998, the following resolution passed by way of Special Order at a meeting of the Council held on Wednesday 17 December 1997 is hereby confirmed:

`That in pursuance of the powers vested in it by the Local Government Act 1974 and the Transport Act 1962, the Christchurch City Council makes the Christchurch City Traffic and Parking Alteration Bylaw 1998 (as per copy attached).'"

 

3. COMMENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS TO MAKE THE CHRISTCHURCH CITY TRAFFIC AND PARKING ALTERATION (NO 2) BYLAW 1998

In accordance with a recommendation contained in the City Services Committee's report to the present Council meeting, to consider and if thought fit to adopt the following resolution, to provide for the imposition of a one-way traffic restriction in Burgess Street, Sumner:

  1. That in pursuance of the powers vested in it by the Local Government Act 1974 and the Transport Act 1962, the Christchurch City Council makes the Christchurch City Traffic and Parking Alteration (No 2) Bylaw 1998 (as per copy attached).

  2. That the Council Secretary be authorised to give public notice that the foregoing resolution will be submitted to an ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on Wednesday 25 March 1998, for confirmation by way of Special Order.

 

4. COMMENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS TO CHANGE NAME OF PART OF WINTERS ROAD TO QUEEN ELIZABETH II DRIVE

In accordance with a recommendation contained in the Shirley/Papanui Community Board's report to the present Council meeting, to consider and if thought fit to adopt the following resolution:

  1. That pursuant to the provisions of section 320(1) of the Local Government Act 1974, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order that the name of the section of Winters Road generally between Philpotts Road and 280 Winters Road as shown on the attached plan be changed to "Queen Elizabeth II Drive".

  2. That the Council Secretary be authorised to give public notice that the foregoing resolution will be submitted to an ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on Wednesday 25 March 1998, for confirmation by way of Special Order.

 

5. OURUHIA RADIO TOWER

To consider the following motion, notice of which has been given by Councillors Gail Sheriff and Graham Condon pursuant to Standing Order 2.16.1:

"As the Ouruhia radio tower is currently operating outside the resource management consent we hereby move that an interim enforcement order be placed on the Ouruhia radio tower to immediately cease FM transmission until an Environment Court hearing decision is made."
