RECOVERED MATERIALS SPECIAL COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Recovered Materials Special Committee
was held on Wednesday 8 October 1997 at 12 noon

PRESENT:

Councillor Denis O'Rourke (Chairman), Cuncillors David Close and Ian Howell, Messrs Michael Hannah, Chris Pickrill, Mark Prain and Peter Townsend.

 

The Committee reports that:

1. PUBLICITY SUB-COMMITTEE

The attached report of the meeting of the Sub-Committee was presented by Mark Prain.

The Committee was advised that the brand name "eco-action" had been registered.

The publicity campaign for the period 18 October to Christmas was outlined to the Committee.

The Committee resolved to endorse the brand name "eco-action" and received the information in the report.

 

2. CEO REPORT

The Committee received a report from Mr Piet Beukman (CEO, Recovered Materials Foundation) covering:

• Recruiting of staff.
• Commodity Strategy Plans.
• Site Development.
• Plant Development.
• Scavenging.
• Strategies for Materials: Glass and Plastic.
• Glass Testing.
• Newspaper.

The meeting concluded at 1.20 pm
