CANTERBURY JOINT WASTE STANDING COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Canterbury Joint Waste Standing Committee
was held on Monday 20 October 1997 at 9.00 am

PART B - REPORTS FOR INFORMATION

1. REGIONAL LANDFILL PROPOSALS
The Committee heard presentations by Envirowaste Services Limited and Waste Management Limited. The two shortlisted proposers had been selected by the Joint Standing Committee's Evaluation Panel. Both companies representatives presented information in response to the Evaluation Panel's request for further information.
2. MONTGOMERY WATSON INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS REVIEW OF LANDFILL SITES AND SELECTION PROCESSES
The independent study on behalf of the Joint Standing Committee was presented to the Committee.
3. REVISED SELECTION PROCESS
On hearing the two submissions from the shortlisted companies and receiving the report from Montgomery Watson Independent Consultants the Standing Committee sought further analysis of the information received. The Evaluation Panel was requested to report to the next scheduled meeting of the Committee on 27 November 1997.

4. RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE THE PUBLIC
The Committee resolved that the draft resolution to exclude the public set out in the agenda be adopted.
The meeting concluded at 4.00 pm.
