RICCARTON/WIGRAM COMMUNITY BOARD

A special meeting of the Riccarton/Wigram Community Board
was held at the Sockburn Service Centre
on Wednesday 11 June 1997 at 8.30am
PRESENT Mike Mora (Chairperson), Helen Broughton, Mary Corbett, Ishwar Ganda, Lesley Keast, Mark Kunnen and Bob Shearing.
APOLOGIES An apology for absence was received and accepted from David Buist.
PART A - MATTERS REQUIRING A COUNCIL DECISION
1. CITY GATEWAY SIGNS AND INFORMATION CENTRES
At its meeting held on 4 June 1997 the Board was asked to consider relocating the City Gateway Sign from a site south of the Templeton township on State Highway 1 to a new site on the northern side.
The Board decided that the matter lie upon the table and requested further information in respect of updated design work and costing information.
Officers from the City Design and Communications and Promotions Units were in attendance at the meeting. Plans of the new sign and new site were tabled and discussed. It was noted that an amount of $30,000 was available from within the current budget for this work to be undertaken.
Recommendation: That the City Gateway Sign and its siting at the new site north of Templeton on State Highway 1 be approved.
The meeting concluded at 9.10am.
