PART B - REPORTS FOR INFORMATION
1. | TRAVIS WETLAND - NATURE HERITAGE PARK DRAFT LANDSCAPE DEVELOPMENT PLAN | RR 6235 |
The draft Landscape Development Plan for Travis Wetland was considered at a special meeting of the Committee held on 27 November 1997.
The meeting commenced with a presentation by staff which highlighted the key features of the plan, the development objectives and policies.
To raise public awareness of the development proposals the Committee agreed that suitable signs should be positioned on the Travis Road and Mairehau Road boundaries of the park and at the corner of Beach Road and Frosts Road.
In noting that an existing private property had been included in the development proposal as the preferred option for the visitors centre, the Committee requested staff to report back to its February 1998 meeting on the options for acquiring the property concerned.
Arising from concerns regarding the state of the residential property on the Travis Road frontage of the wetland, the Committee requested staff to arrange for the house to be removed as soon as possible. The Committee also requested that the Property Unit be instructed to find alternative accommodation for the tenant of the property.
