accepted from Councillor Graham Condon. Councillor Evans retired at 1.00 pm, the Mayor retired at 1.50 pm, Councillor Close retired at 1.30 pm, and were present for part of clause 1. |

PART B - REPORTS FOR INFORMATION
1. LAND TRANSPORT PRICING STUDY - OPTIONS FOR THE FUTURE
A draft submission in response to the Ministry of Transport's discussion document had been prepared by officers as a result of a number of briefings and seminar sessions with Councillors.
The draft was discussed in detail and amendments noted for the Council's submission to the Ministry.
The attached submission was forwarded to the Ministry on 15 August 1997 in accord with the Council's delegation to the special joint meeting.
2. ROAD MANAGEMENT OPTIONS FOR REFORM SUBMISSION TO MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT
A draft submission from the Council in response to the Ministry of Transport's document "Road Management : Options for Reform" was submitted also to the special joint meeting.
Amendments requested by the meeting have been included in the attached submission forwarded to the Ministry of Transport on 15 August.
The meeting concluded at 2.00 pm.
