REPORT OF THE CITY MANAGER
1. FILLING OF EXTRAORDINARY VACANCY ON
FENDALTON/WAIMAIRI COMMUNITY BOARD
Councillor Margaret Murray has submitted her resignation as a member of the Fendalton/Waimairi Community Board.
The Council is therefore required to make an appointment to fill the extraordinary vacancy on the Board arising from Councillor Murray's resignation.
STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS
The Local Government Act 1974 provides that as the Christchurch City Council is divided into wards, any member of the Council appointed to fill the extraordinary vacancy arising from Councillor Murray's resignation must represent one of the two wards comprising the Fendalton/Waimairi community.
Recommendation: That Councillor Pat Harrow be appointed to fill the extraordinary vacancy arising from Councillor Murray's resignation, in accordance with the foregoing statutory provision.
